T O P I C R E V I E WrorrrWhat are your experiences with someone who had mercury in square or opposition to your venus?Where you bored out of your mind when this person started talking? Like *eyeroll* pleeease shut up?! Or were you just turned off to the point of almost being grossed out, like this person just became distasteful to you as soon as they spoke. What happened?I've met people whose Mercury square my Mars, and in the end, no matter how many other compatibility factors there were, the way they thought just became so frustrating for me! I was like "you're an idiot! I can't respect the way you think! Auuugh!" haha so these mercury synastries are pretty important, especially because communication is the key to everything!SylvenNot at all! I have a friend who's Mercury is in Taurus square my Venus. We talk, talk, deep and honest. He is one of my best friends! I do find his voice a bit annoying to be frank. Because he can sometimes talk a bit piteous. Oppositions? That would mean Aqua Mercury. Love em as they conjunct my Moon and trine my own Mercury in Gemini. Why do you ask? charlieHave this with my husband. He is anything but boring! We have the craziest conversations ever but then again, we have a lot of Uranus going on natally and I'm synastry so things are never dull...Gemini BluesMy Merc opp her Venus. She loved hearing me talk, topic didn't matter. Until she had enough (for now).hearttreasureI think the worst are when someone's mercury square/opposition to your moon and/or mars.Mercury to venus in any aspect is favorable than no aspect. In synastry when my mercury doesn't touch someone's venus, I don't feel comfortable talking much. When my mercury touches someone's venus, I talk easily and a lot. When my Venus doesn't touch someone's Mercury, I don't really listen to their topic. When my venus touches someone's mercury, I love listening to any of their story.teaselI would think it's still positive. I usually love Venus to Mercury. It's calming, and lightens things up. LibracornHmm.. Now that I think about it when my Venus square someone's Mercury, I don't really feel anything. And I believe that's because my Mercury will either sextile or trine their Mercury.I have Venus in Virgo, Mercury in Libra in the early degrees. If you have a Gemini/Sag Mercury in the early degrees, your Mercury should trine or sextile my Mercury. If your Mercury trines or sextiles mines, I usually like listening to what you have to say and I'm also very agreeable with you. Both Gemini and Sagittarius can talk way too much for me though, but I don't really mind and it does not anger me.I agree with the post above with the Mercury-Mars aspects, now THESE people will quickly anger me with their words. Having your Mercury square my Mars, I'd have a hard time getting along with you intellectually.I have a Mars in Leo.Allow me to explain:Mercury in Scorpio - too private for me, stop hiding stuff. Keep it 100% and you'll be on my good side. If we're friends, you should be comfortable with telling me what's on your mind. Speaking of which, they also play too many mind games. I had an ex-friend with Mercury in Scorpio (which squared my Mars) and he'd constantly ask me questions that he already knows the answers to. I used to think he did this because he wanted to see my response, but regardless it was very annoying.Mercury in Taurus - too quiet and shallow for me. Especially via text message, I hate texting people with a Mercury in Taurus (squared my Mars). Some of them don't even respond to text messages and I believe that's so rude. I don't have much in common with these folks. These explanations aren't meant to offend anyone with those placements but these are my own experiences with people with those placements. I'm open for comments however CapriciousCapricorn quote:Originally posted by Libracorn:Mercury in Taurus - too quiet and shallow for me. I've got all 3 air signs in my chart too (MC/Juno in Aqua). Some of the people I admire and really like, but just can't carry an easygoing conversation with them.mereiposaI have my mercury square venus with someone, and we talk non stop. His mercury squares my venus/mars midpoint. We have his venus trine my moon, so we get along really well to begin with. I was worried about the square, but I love to hear his voice and I love talking with him. Kissing is great too with him!I have known him for two years now, and though his mercury squares my v/m midpoint, I think it really just activates it. Also are they known for rigid thinking? Prepare me please They're absolutely capable of quick witty banter, loudness, etc etc. Depends so much on the rest of the chart. Gemini rising will make them talkative... so will certain aspects to mercury, an activated Uranus, a strong presence in air houses, etc etc. Taurus Mercury will be stoic and quiet, strong silent type for sure, in some situations, especially if they're feeling reserved or uncomfortable, and in any case they generally want to take their time and not express things recklessly because they know the value of words...They aren't shallow, but they do operate on what's clean and clear and under control... opposite of Scorpio Mercury, who isn't as characterized above all the time either. Scorpio Mercury might seem slippery but they're really trying to take absolutely everything into account and it's hard to do that. But that's because it has been THOROUGHLY tested out and found to work for that person. Why leave a lush green pasture if it's all right here? They aren't shallow... They're simple. Simple is beautiful...And it's true what they say about Taurus Mercury... they'll say things three times just because they like the sound of it, or if they do not like it, unfortunately, it will replay in their minds over and over again... very tenacious and fixed where ideas are concerned, and verbal agreements made lightly by others might as well be carved in stone for Taurus Mercury... which is why you generally don't find them making promises lightly. When they do speak, it's generally very worthwhile to listen (the first two times anyway )CapriciousCapricorn quote:Originally posted by yungang_grotto: They aren't shallow, but they do operate on what's clean and clear and under control... opposite of Scorpio Mercury, who isn't as characterized above all the time either. But she is Gemini Sun, Gem Moon conjunct Saturn, and Virgo ASC. Her mercury is conjunct Taurus Venus, trine Cap Chiron. She is not exactly talkative, but her words are always appropriate. She does not have outbursts, she is not excessive. She thinks before she speaks, and she is definitely stoic. She does not communicate much when it comes to deep subjects, but I know these thoughts are in her mind. What she does like to talk about are lighthearted things. She is sincere, and thoughtful, and intelligent in her communication. Like yungang said, she's not shallow... she just doesn't disclose the depths of what is actually going on inside. She is still young, but has wisdom and insight of someone ages older. I may be biased, but clearly I love her Taurus mercury! PS I just realized she also squares my Mercury with her Venus! With her, I love hearing her insight on things. She talks about unusual things, and I learn a lot from her. I suspect when she is an adult we will get along well with regards to this. But just like my previous friend, her Venus trines my moon, so we have that connectedness too.And to the above mentioned Mars square Mercury- this is my second daughter. She has Mars in Taurus, conjunct her sister's Venus, and therefore square my Mercury. She is still young as well, but she argues with me constantly! She loves to push buttons and she can rile me up quicker than anyone else. Would have a very deep experience of his own mind. He is well equipped to approach life and his soul's journey with a balanced and steady mind, supporting his soul's mission... which is to move into Taurean qualities, Taurus being similar in my mind to the essential mother of the world, the yin earth, and the tao itself (Taurus... tao... eh?)But as usual with the opposition, on a more mundane level, it comes down to other people... he might experience relationships especially as transformative (of his ideas, his way of communicating and processing information) and powerful... he will be always learning, always adjusting, always boomeranging his magnetic powerful nature off of others, looking deeply into things, or having his own depths plumbed. What is there though is simplicity, and a love of the solid, simple pleasures of life...flowers, good food, warm baths...Sometimes though he could be cutting, cruel, judgmental, and obsessive, when it comes to other people, but more likely he experiences them as such and feels himself a hapless victim of powerful forces which are beyond him and yet deeply intimate...So he learns that these people are reflections and mirrors of his own inner nature, and begins to balance and transform himself (likely this process is constantly underway)... through the grounded relating which is already an integral part of his being...
